"Mean Girls, Bio, and ASU"
[Music || Frankee, "F.U.R.B. (F U Right Back)"]
What a week! And most of the obstacles are finally over.
On April 30, my ASU event our group organized was finally over. All the planning and ish paid off as the turn out was better than we expected. Of course, there were minor problems in every event and ours was no different. I lead my group of thirty-some students from room to room and made sure no one ran off. Overall, I thought we did a decent job and the high school students enjoyed a day learning about college and Asian Pacific American Heritage.
With that finally over, I was relieved because it put so much stress on me. Part of me regretted putting that hard work on myself, but in the end, I'm glad I was able to take part in an organization this semester and experience something outside of the dorms. Now all I have to write is the internship paper for my History class.
There was an after party my Outreach group threw. However, I wasn't close to any of them and didn't really want to put myself in that situation. At the moment, I choose not to drink and each time I'm put into a social situation, it becomes harder to stand by my beliefs. I will only drink when the mood is right and around people I feel comfortable with. When drinking isn't necessary to have a good time (which is 90% of the time), then I'm not gonna drink. I find it hard to believe people drink because it liven things up; I say those people must be hella boring if they need alcohol to have fun. And don't even start with the "It's cool to drink" with me.
Over the weekend, I studied hard on my fourth Biology exam which was today. It's frustrating to sit down and just study it because it's hella boring but I force myself. I hope, hope, hope I did well. I felt I did okay on it but there was a lot of tricky questions on it. I didn't feel like I failed it, but who knows.. I'll find out come Wednesday or Friday.
My Gov't class was canceled today so I was kind of happy. I decided to go watch the 11 a.m. showing of "Mean Girls," the nation's #1 movie which grossed $24.4 million in its first weekend. It was witty and better than most teen movies. It had a good message. But it barely touched the surface on several issues. It was a good enough movie, enjoyable. I wouldn't buy the DVD though. Compared to "13 Going On 30," "Mean Girls" was a distant bride's maid.
After watching the teen comedy, I was hungry so I ordered a Gardenburger lunch meal at Fuddruckers. It was pretty good because I haven't had one in a long time. I drowned my fries and burger in ketchup and BBQ sauce. Mmm. I still had a hefty amount of time to kill so I walked further down the street and found a Korean and Japanese market! I haven't been in an Asian market for the longest time! I bought a couple of snack foods and yummy candy.
Now I'm back in my room... and I gotta watch "Shrek" and write a report on it to turn in tomorrow! That's all. Have a nice day y'all.
