"Early Ticket Plans 2004"
[Music || S Club 7, "Natural" (Spike Mix)]
Here's my list so far:
"Jersey Girl" (March 19): It looks cute, so sue me. :) (No, I'm not one of those sadistic people who want to watch it to see J.Lo die in the first couple minutes)
" Dogville" (March 26): The world has seen it already, but the US.
"Hero" (April 16): Ditto. I already watched it, but I cannot wait to see it again but this time in THEATERS. The SF Asian American Film Festival has it but it's too pricey (cos it's opening night).
"Shaolin Soccer" (April 16?): I already watched it, but it'll be nice if Miramax finally released it in theaters undubbed. It's hilarious.
"Wild Things 2: The Glades" (March/April TBD, DVD): I love Susan Ward. (Everyone rent "The In Crowd"!)
"13 Going On 30" (April 23): Jennifer Garner headlines her own "Big." The trailer is hilarious except how fake she looks during her "Thriller" dance.
"The Day After Tomorrow" (May 28): Hey, I liked "Deep Impact" and
sometimes I love special effects when they're done right.
"Sky Captain and The World of Tomorrow" (June 11): Looks reallllly cool. Plus Angelina Jolie.
"The Stepford Wives" (Summer 2004): Faith Hill (YEAH! Acting debut!), Nicole Kidman, and a great cast... in a possible campy horror-comedy-musical?
"Shall We Dance?" (August 6): I want to see how they butchered the original. I cannot imagine how this can be good; the Japanese movie was perfect in every way.
"Wimbledon" (September 24): Kewlness.
"Alexander" (November 5): If Angelina Jolie as Colin Farrell's mummy isn't enough, Jared Leto will be playing Colin's boytoy. ROWRRRL! Must-see. :)
"An Unfinished Life" (December 24): I want to see Jennifer Lopez really act. This is Oscar bait, people. She's been praised for her work from "Selena" to "Out of Sight;" can she be taken seriously under the right director? This will tell.
"2046": Maggie Cheung, Zhang Ziyi, Tony Leung, plus Faye Wong and Chang Chen... doesn't get better than that.
"First Daughter" (TBD 2004): Katie Holmes kicks Mandy's candy ass!
"Nowhere To Go But Up" (aka Happy End) (TBD 2004?): It's been delayed for so long and the French trailer looks horrible, but I'm there for Audrey Tautou's English debut (not counting " Dirty Pretty Things" ).
"Pride and Prejuice" (TBD when it comes on Video or when it's showing near me): To see Carmen Rasmusen on screen!

Overhyped movies I am not looking forward to:
"Catwoman": Halle Berry who killed Storm, yuck. Ugly-wannabe-sexy leather costume, yuck-er.
"The Village": The teaser turned me off. I rented "Unbreakable" and I didn't even watch it. I watched "Signs" and I didn't know why everyone liked it.
"A Cinderella Story": The trailer shows the whole movie and it doesn't look too appealing... It looks so contrived, even Hilary Duff and Chad Michael Murray can't save it. I was looking forward to this, but not anymore.
"Troy": Was that whole "oh-wow-look-at-all-these-boats" scene in the trailer suppose to intice me? It failed.
"Taking Lives": Okay, maybe it's not overhyped but I put it here because it's a Jolie movie. What's stopping me from the raving it: the trailer looked bland like "Murder By Numbers" (and I really wanted to like that one) and Ethan Heartbreaker-Hawke is in it. Who knows, I might have a change of heart since the trailer could've misrepresented.
"Spider Man 2": A typical trailer which looked more like a joke. I don't see how it can live up to the original.
"The Incredibles": I know I'm not a fan of animated movies so I'm biased. I still don't see what the hoopla is about.
