"'Sky Captain,' Flight Delayed To September 17"
[Music || Shania Twain, "You're Still The One"]
::Groans::

There are two movies on the top of my most anticipated summer's movie list. Now there is only one, "The Stepford Wives," since Paramount has decided to push back "Sky Captain and The World Of Tomorrow."

Oh well, the worth will surely be worth it. Right now, my wallpaper is of a very cool Jude Law from "Sky Captain." I'm going to change that to the poorly done Official "Stepford Wives" wallpaper since September is still a great deal away.

"Sky Captain" looked awesome and it fitted the summer bill. It's a risky move, but even if it hits back in September, I doubt it can recoup its costs in the Fall period unless the movie is Oscar material.

Sky Captain Delayed Again

Paramount Pictures announced that it will delay the release of its upcoming SF movie Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow to Sept. 17 from June 25. It's the second time the live-action/computer-animated movie has been bumped; it was originally slated for release on June 11.

A spokeswoman for Paramount told SCI FI Wire that the movie is being moved to the fall because "the summer play time is insane, and this great movie deserves a better date." The spokeswoman added that a fall date allows for promotion at the upcoming International Comic-Con in San Diego in July and elsewhere.

Another reason for the delay could have to do with the extensive post-production on the movie, which features live actors Jude Law, Gwyneth Paltrow and Angelina Jolie in a computer-animated world of flying robots and 1930s New York. The movie features about 2,000 visual-effects shots, compared with about 1,500 for The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King.
